Ways To Jump Higher In Basketball

If you have ever seen people jumping and dunking a basketball, even if they are not extremely tall, you might be wondering how you could accomplish the same thing on your own.

Are there exercises that you could do that would allow you to jump a couple feet higher, allowing you to slamdunk just like the people you admire. There are actually a couple different exercises that you can do that will help you increase your vertical leap.

Squats

One of the best exercises that you can do to increase your vertical leap is to do squats. You will want to start out with simple bends, and back up again. Once that is easy to do, you will want to hold dumbbells to improve your muscular strength. Later on, you can move to a barbell which can hold a significant amount of weight to boost the muscular strength of your legs dramatically.

Lunges

Once you are proficient with squats, you will want to move on to lunges. You will put one foot forward, and one back. You’ll then bend your knee with the extended leg forward, and then move back to an upright position. You will then switch legs, performing the same exercise. By doing squats and lunges regularly, you will be able to gradually move toward jumping higher when you play basketball.
